The No-Show Democrats

Barney Frank, very possibly the most "liberal" member of the U.S. Congress, represents a district in Massachusetts, which state is generally considered to be the most "liberal" State in America. Below we see him in his roll as an errand boy bringing the word to his fellow, two-faced "liberal" Democrats. His inspired message to the faithful? Be pro-war. Do not protest the war in Iraq. How appropriate, and how revealing.

Although Barney Frank is a vociferous, non-stop critic of G.W. Bush, presumably because Frank is a flaming "liberal" and Bush is supposedly a heartless "conservative", still when it comes to the disaster in Iraq, Frank, like his fellow hypocrite from Massachusetts, Senator John Kerry, always restricts his negative comments about Wolfowitz's War to a critique of the execution of that war, to nitpicking and second-guessing the way the war has been fought by Bush/Cheney, but never addressing the central issue of the the war itself, to wit, why would Bush/Cheney get America involved in this fantastic, gigantic nightmare in the first place?

The latter question remains off the table, please understand. Big Bad "conservative" Bush gets a free pass from the ultra-liberal Frank when it comes to the Iraq disaster.  Senators Kerry and Hillary Clinton feel the same way, as do the rest of the worthless showboating Democratic luminaries on Capital Hill.

Why? You may ask. Because the American Israel Public Affairs Committee says so, that's why. AIPAC is Bush's biggest fan club in Washington. Ergo, there is no connecting the dots about this enterprise. The two parties can't afford that. Full speed ahead, and "stay the course" until the last dog is shot, to quote my  Irish drinking buddies.

What the malleable and corrupt Washington politicians are indicating in no uncertain terms is simply this. Money and influence are more important than votes. Cash and influence trump everything. With enough campaign contributions, the bought-and-paid-for politicians can fool the complacent, unsophisticated American electorate into believing anything. But without that money to brainwash and bedazzle the voters, all is lost. Welcome to Ex America, the land of one party government, fraud, total subornation and brazen play acting.

September 24, 2005 (Saturday) -- Anti-war protest in Washington, DC today.

Very few Democratic members of Congress to appear.

Reason: The American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC), according to Democratic insiders on Capitol Hill, put out the word that any member of Congress who appeared at the protest, where some speakers were to represent pro-Palestinian views, would face the political wrath of AIPAC.

According to Democratic sources on the Hill, Rep. Barney Frank of Massachusetts was the chief conveyor of the AIPAC warning to his colleagues. At the time of this report, three members of Congress were to address the anti-war protestors: Reps. Cynthia McKinney (D-GA), John Conyers (D-MI), and Lynn Woolsey (D-CA).

The word is that AIPAC will direct its massive campaign support to Woolsey's neo-con and pro-Iraq war primary challenger, California State Assemblyman Joe Nation, who has strong connections to the Rand Corporation, one of the Pentagon's chief war-making think tanks. Woolsey represents California's Marin and Sonoma counties.
