Long live Argentina and the Monroe Doctrine. No European colonization or interference in the Americas. No more cant and deception from Whitehall about anything. No Washington participation in, or instigation of, wars in continental Europe. Such warmongering is the record of U.S. foreign policy in the 20th Century. 

The Monroe Doctrine and George Washington’s farewell address are the embodiment of great ideas. Perhaps they could be a useful guide for the 21st Century.
