Dear Friends + Interlocutors,
Smart people do not stay ignorant forever. The word is getting out about Ukraine. Please take note of this article in todays's South China Morning Post: United States is responsible for Ukraine War. This does not mean that anyone in Washington will be held responsible for the Ukraine fiasco or that past malfeasance will actually change conduct going forward.
In a joint appearance in London on Wednesday, as part of Washington’s two-front, scatterbrained war on both Russia and China, the FBI-M15 tag team of Chris Wray and Ken McCallum declared China to be the biggest long-term threat to the U.S. and U.K.
This is very different than how I view the situation. It is entirely possible that the biggest, ever-present danger to the U.S. and U.K. comes from government officials working inside the U.S. and U.K. and not from any foreign government.
I can understand why China's foreign ministry spokesman, Zhao Lijian, responded today:
Facts have fully proven that the U.S. is the biggest threat to world peace, stability and development. We urge this U.S. official [that is, FBI Director Wray] to have the right perspective, see China's developments in an objective and reasonable manner and stop spreading lies and stop making irresponsible remarks.
Mind you, this kerfuffle is happening concurrently as the god-awful Papa Joe Administration considers eliminating punitive tariffs on Chinese goods as a means of mitigating runaway inflation.
If you want inflation to endure and last forever in the U.S., my friends, and if you want to destroy Apple, Amazon and half of American industry, just keep piling on tariffs and sanctioning China.
As noted in previous missives, it is not actually the U.S. that is at fault here. It is a relative handful of opportunists and blockheads in charge in Washington.
The imperial capital was hijacked a long time ago by a determined, private-agenda cabal who are using said opportunists and blockheads. Most dramatically now, in Ukraine.
Hence, the ongoing train wreck in international affairs. The American people, to the extent such still exist, are beside the point. We are all along for the ride.
